Outreach Services
Overview
Libraries may have many different types of patrons who cannot make use of traditional circulation services. For these users, known in SirsiDynix Symphony as outreach users, the library must extend its services beyond its walls. Libraries may use any of the following methods to make its collection available to outreach users.

Send bookmobiles or other delivery vehicles |
|
•
|
Prepare materials to be picked up by designated representatives |
The Outreach Services wizards assist the library staff in identifying and distributing library materials to users who cannot come to the library.
The module’s flexible design allows materials to be delivered to patrons in a number of situations, including the following.

Homes of users who cannot come to the library in person |
|
•
|
Users who are located in areas too remote to be served by bookmobiles |
|
•
|
Managed care facilities |
|
•
|
Correctional institutions |
|
•
|
Literacy and adult education programs |
|
•
|
Users conducting home schooling |
|

The Item Search and Display Wizard, Check Item Status Wizard, and Getting Help and Print buttons (Print Wizard) also appear on the toolbar.
Set Properties may display as the first step of some wizards. Click OK to accept the default values.
