Copy User Wizard
The Copy User wizard is used to create a new user record by copying existing user information. This wizard is especially useful when registering, for example, an entire family where address information is the same.
To copy a user record

In the Users group, click the Copy User wizard. |

Do one of the following: |

If the User Search Helper is set in properties to display as the first step of the wizard, search for the user. The helper will automatically fill in the User ID box with the ID you select using this helper. |
|

|
Scan or type the user ID you want to copy in the User ID box. |
|

If the Auto-generated User ID property is selected in Copy User wizard properties, a new user ID will be automatically generated in the New ID box. You can either accept this generated ID, or type a new user ID in this box. |
Note: If the wizard properties are set to not auto-generate a user ID, you can still auto-generate an ID by typing AUTO in the New User ID box.

Use the following tabs to enter user information and the type of access you wish to give the user. |

SMS Notice Contact Info Tab (this tab displays according to the setting in the Register User Helper Properties. To set the property, right-click CheckOut, select Properties, and select the Helpers tab. Then, click the Register New User button and select Show SMS Notice Contact Info Tab. For details, see Register New User Helper Properties). |
Note: In the Extended Information and Addresses tab, you can add notes and comments. Use the Create and Delete row helpers to add or delete text boxes.

On the Basic Info tab, verify the user ID in the User ID field if the ID was automatically generated. You can either accept this generated ID, or type a new user ID in this box. |

If desired, and if the Update User Signature helper has been configured to display in the wizard properties, you can add a user signature image to the user record. For more information, see Adding or modifying a user signature. |

Click Clone/Copy to New User to copy existing user information to create a new user record. When the new record is created, SirsiDynix Symphony responds with the following message: |
User record has been successfully created
After the user information is copied, click one of the following options.

Save to save changes made to the current user information. |
|
•
|
Clone/Copy This User to New User to create a new user based on the user you just created |
|
•
|
Make More Changes to make changes to the current user record |
|
•
|
Close to exit this wizard |
The Accountability and Outreach tabs display only if your system is configured with the Accountability and Outreach Services modules.
