Addresses Tab
The Addresses tab contains the following information about a user.
• | Primary or Primary Address |
• | Address 1, Address 2, Address 3 |
Each address consists of entry fields, such as City, State, ZIP code, Daytime Phone, and Fax. When creating or modifying entry fields, you can use the Entry Field lists to display a full list of entries in WorkFlows and the e-Library. You can add or delete an entry using the Insert Row After, Insert Row Before, or Delete Row helper buttons. If you want to add an entry field, select an appropriate entry from the Entry Field list, select an appropriate entry ID.
SirsiDynix recommends that you designate both a postal address and an e-mail address in the Addresses tab as the primary address.
The Debt Collection reports use the primary address when writing a list of users and addresses to a report. If you specify only an e-mail address in the tab designated as the primary address, only that e-mail address appears in the output with the user name. Because collection agencies require postal addresses, the e-mail address output will not be accepted.
For more information about entry IDs, go to Entry ID.
This field (referred to as Primary Address Flag in the Set Properties window) allows you select whether Address 1, Address 2, or Address 3 is the primary address. The primary address is used for mailing notices to users. The primary address is also used in Debt Collection reports to produce user and address information for collection agencies.
If a library uses e-mail addresses to send notices to patrons and wants to use Debt Collection reports, SirsiDynix recommends including both a postal address and an e-mail address in the primary address tab. Including both kinds of addresses allows the library to send e-mail notices to patrons and to generate postal address information required by collection agencies.
Address 1, Address 2, Address 3
Address fields are used to send notices and other correspondence to users and vendors.
For Users – Each Address field displays one of three addresses associated with this user. The entry field labels used for each line of the address are selected from the full entry list when the record was created. The address that will be used when printing notice reports and Debt Collection reports is indicated by the Primary field.
If a library uses e-mail addresses to send notices to patrons and also wants to use Debt Collection reports, SirsiDynix recommends that you include both a postal address and an e-mail address in the primary address tab. This allows the library to send e-mail notices to patrons, and to generate postal address information required by collection agencies.
To avoid problems with some reports, the User Address entries for ZIP and/or HOMEROOM should contain only alphanumeric characters (A-Z,1-0) and these special characters.
