Remove Interest Wizard

The Remove Interest wizard is used to manually remove interest profiles.

A user may temporarily or permanently lose interest in certain groups of library materials. When this happens, interest profiles can be made inactive, or may be completely removed from the user record.

If a user no longer wishes to receive items from a particular interest area, the interest profile may be removed by setting the interest profile’s active status to inactive using the Modify Interest Wizard or the Purge Specific Interest Reportt.

To remove interest profiles

In the Interest Information and Maintenance group, click the Remove Interest wizard.

In the User Search window, scan the user’s barcode, or specify one or more search criteria and text on which to search in the Index field. If available, you can click Current to accept the most recently viewed or modified user.

You can restrict your user search to a certain library, or library group, by selecting the library’s name, or library group name, in the Library list.

Click Search.

If a list of matching user records displays, select a user, and click Display Interest for Selected User.

If the user has more than one interest profile, the List of Interests window displays. For each interest profile, the rank, interest name, search string, item type, item categories, location and status display.

Click Select All to remove all the interests listed, or select the check box beside the interest you want to remove.

Click Remove Interest to remove your selections. A dialog box will display to confirm that you want to remove the interest. Click OK to remove the interest.

Repeat the previous steps for each interest profile you want to delete.

After removing the interest profiles, select one of the following options.

Remove Another Interest to return to the List of Interests window. This option displays only if the user has more than one interest profile.

•

Remove Interest for Another User to return to the User Search window.

•

Close to exit the wizard.
