Checkout Wizard
The Checkout wizard is used to check out items to a library user. Depending on how wizard properties are set and if patron photos are configured to appear for your library, it can also be used to add a photo to the user's record. This wizard displays on the Circulation, Academic Reserves, and Outreach Services toolbars.

Important Considerations When Using this Wizard
•
If the item being checked out is already charged to the user, the wizard may renew the item according to library policies. Go to FAQs: Checking Out Materials for renewing items and recording the renewal as a “seen” renewal or an “unseen” renewal. |
•
If the user has a DELINQUENT or BLOCKED type user status, an alert window will display. |
•
If your site uses the User Groups feature and this user’s responsibility level is LINKED, then this user will inherit the delinquency status of the worst-case user in the group. If a user in the same group has a DELINQUENT, BLOCKED, or BARRED type user status, an alert window will display. |
•
If your library has configured due date slips to print a footer (lines of text at the end of the slip), and if you are checking out multiple items to the user, the footer will not print until you click either Checkout to New User or Close. |
•
If the user has a credit account and policies are configured to automatically pay fines/bills with money from the credit account, fines/bills created during check out may be paid automatically with funds from the user’s credit account. If bills are automatically paid, the amount paid from the user’s credit account displays in the Amount Paid Automatically in the list of checkouts. If a bill cannot be paid in full with funds from the user’s credit account, the bill is added to the user record. For more information, see FAQs: Credit User Accounts. |
•
If you are checking out a circulation set, type or scan the set ID. The wizard will display a list of items in the set. You can check out all items at once or select individual items to check out. For more information see FAQs: Circulating Items in Groups. |
