Utilities

Overview

You can tailor SirsiDynix Symphony to meet a library’s needs, or control the operation of SirsiDynix Symphony. The SirsiDynix Symphony Utility wizards perform the following administrative functions.

• Track transactions sent to and received from vendors
• View, import, export, or remove bibliographic and/or authority records
• View, import, or remove bibliographic records with order information
• Load a properties file from the SirsiDynix Symphony server
• Save property settings to a properties file on the SirsiDynix Symphony server (administrators only)
• Create, modify, or remove toolbar files on the SirsiDynix Symphony server; map wizards to function keys (administrators only)
• Upload inventory data from handheld scanners.
• Create and send SMS messages to library patrons, as well as view logs documenting the SMS messages sent to any given patron.

The Item Search and Display Wizard, Check Item Status Wizard, and Help button ( Getting Help) also appear on the toolbar.

The Property window may appear as the first window of some wizards. Press ENTER or click OK to accept the default selections for the wizard properties options
