Failed Calls Notice Report

When users are notified using the SirsiDynix Voice Automation (SVA) phone notification system, a communication record is created. This communication record and its associated notices are retried until the user is reached successfully, or until the number of attempts set in the sva_config file are made.

The Failed Calls Notice (Failedcallsntc) report is primarily used by staff. The staff can use this report to personally call a patron who could not be contacted by SVA. However, the staff can also save the notices to a file for emailing or printing on paper.

This report lists failed communication records by pickup library. This report lists all users who have unpaid bills, available holds, and overdue items by pickup library. The bill, available hold, and overdue notices are created and saved in a file. This file can be used to view, print, or email notices to patrons, if desired. If the system is configured to use email, the text of the notice and the associated materials may be automatically emailed when you view the finished report, as with other notice reports.

This report is in the SVA Group Reports.

The Failed Call Notice Printing report contains the following tabs.

You cannot set the Count as a Notice Sent option for any type of notice using this report. Another notice report specific to the notice type, such as the Hold Pickup Notices notice or Overdue Notice report must be run. Once the notice is counted as sent, that particular bill, charge, or hold is not selected for the next report.

You may use the Notice Type Output options to remove notices for each type (overdue, bill, or hold) from the communication record when the report is run. If a notice is removed, and no more notices exist for the communication record, the communication is also removed from the database, and the user is no longer contacted.

After a call fails several times, the library may want confirm the contact information for the user or remove the NOTIFY_VIA PHONE entry from the user record to prevent the from being selected by SVA for phone calls.
