Authority Database Overlay Report
The Authority Database Overlay (Loadauthbatch) report loads authority records that have been imported to the server into the SirsiDynix Symphony catalog, but does not mark the Edit directory for update.
This report is password protected. If you do not know the password, see your supervisor.

Batches of authority records are typically loaded using the Load Authority Records (Loadauthimp) report. However, because each record is marked for update, the Add, Delete, and Update Databases (Adutext) report may experience processing difficulties when very large batches of records are loaded. You would only need to run this report if you had an exceptionally large file, such as if you had sent the entire authority file off to a third party vendor for authority maintenance.
The Authority Database Overlay (Loadauthbatch) report is the same as the Load Authority Records report, except that the Edit directory is not marked for update. However, because records are not incorporated into your authority file with the Add, Delete, Update Databases report, run the following reports, in the order indicated, to incorporate the updates:

| 3 | Rebuild Text Database Report (Rebuildtext) |
These reports should be run in the order specified above. If your library runs the Bibliographic Database Overlay Report (Bibloadbatch) in addition to the Authority Database Overlay report, run the Rebuild Heading Databases Report (Rebuildheading) before the Rebuild Text Database report as well.
