Bibliographic Database Overlay Report

Batches of bibliographic records are typically loaded using the Load Bibliographic Records (Bibload) report. However, because each record is marked for update, the Add, Delete, and Update Databases (Adutext) report may experience processing difficulties when very large batches of records are loaded. You would only need to run the Bibliographic Database Overlay (Bibloadbatch) report if you had an exceptionally large file, such as if you had sent the entire catalog off to a third party vendor for authority maintenance.

This report is password protected. If you do not know the password, see your supervisor.

This report is in the MARC Import Group Reports.

The Bibliographic Database Overlay report contains the following tabs.

The Bibliographic Database Overlay report is the same as the Load Bibliographic Records report without output options. However, Browse and Edit directories are not marked for update. Because records are not incorporated into your catalog when the Add, Delete, Update Databases report is run (which is how the Load Bibliographic Records report works), you must run the following reports to incorporate the updates.
