Update User Signature Helper

The Update User Signature helper allows you to add a signature image to a user record or delete an existing user signature image from a user record.

The Update User Signature helper is accessible from the New User Registration Wizard, the Modify User Wizard, and the Copy User Wizard based on what is set in each respective wizard's properties. If configured in the wizard properties, the Update User Signature helper is accessed by clicking on the Update User Signature helper icon or the user's current signature image, if one exists.

To add a new signature to the user record

After the user has completed all required steps on the signature pad, the image displays in the editor space in the main Update User Signature helper window.

Note: This option does not appear if your workstation does not have a signature pad device configured and connected. For information on how to configure a signature pad device for your workstation, see Configuring a signature pad device.

WorkFlows names, crops, compresses, and adds a time stamp to the image and saves it in the JPG format to its appropriate directory located in the /Unicorn/Custom/Signature directory on the SirsiDynix Symphony server. WorkFlows also saves the image to the local cache in the \Workflows\tmp directory.

Note: If you replace a previous user signature image with a new image, WorkFlows overwrites the old image file on the SirsiDynix Symphony server with the new image file.

Important Considerations When Using this Helper

The \Workflows\tmp directory is cleared each time you exit the WorkFlows client. User signatures are downloaded to the workstation on demand.
You can customize the user agreement text displayed to the user on the signature pad. For information on how to customize this text, see Customizing the user agreement text for a signature pad device.
You can customize which icons are displayed within the interface of the signature pad device. For more information on using your own icons for the signature pad, see Customizing the icons for a signature pad device.
