Title Costs Analysis Report

The Title Costs Analysis (Titlcostanalst) report compares title costs over two or three fiscal cycles. It is useful when comparing the annual cost of subscriptions or anything ordered over multiple fiscal cycles. At least two fiscal cycle selections are required for comparison.

This report contains the following tabs.

By default, the Linked to Catalog order line selection is set to Yes. Only order lines that are linked to the catalog are selected. When this option is selected, each fund’s list of records displays with the heading TITLE. If this field is set to No, only order lines that are not linked to the catalog are selected. When this option is selected, each fund’s list of records displays with the heading DESCRIPTION. Descriptive entries are always printed in the long format.

If the Average Cost option is selected in the output options when the Linked to Catalog option is set to No, order line amounts for cataloged copies are included in the DESCRIPTION list, without corresponding title information.

The report is sorted first by library, then fund name (or fund ID). Titles or order descriptions are listed for each fund.

The default output option is Average Cost/Short Title. A percent change of compared costs is reported either for the fund’s total costs per fiscal cycle, or for the average cost per copy for each fiscal cycle. Each title in the report may be output in either short or long formats.

Calculation of average copy costs is based on information in the Copies Paid, Amount Paid, and Unit Price fields. If no copies have been paid, copy cost will be calculated from the Unit Price field. If the copies have been paid and the amount paid is greater than zero, the copy cost is calculated by dividing the Amount Paid field by the Copies Paid field. If copies have been paid but the amount paid field is zero, then the copy cost will be zero.
