Reshelving Slips

If your workstation has a slip printer, you can use it to print reshelving slips from various wizards. Reshelving slip printing is only necessary when the workstation location is different from the returned item’s assigned destination. Every workstation can tell what its own location is from its login. When an item is discharged, SirsiDynix Symphony compares the item’s home location with the assigned location of the workstation. If the two are different, a reshelving slip will print. A reshelving slip is not printed if the shelving location is the same as the workstation’s location. The reshelving slip may route the item to its home location.

If your workstation’s location is CIRCDESK, for example, and the returned item’s home is STACKS, the reshelving slip will display with the following message:

route to: STACKS

The reshelving slip may route the item to its next assigned location, based on a list of holds associated with the item. If the returned item has an associated hold request, the reshelving slip displays as follows regardless of the item’s home location.

route to: HOLDS

When an item in transit arrives at the library and taken out of transit, the transit record is deleted, and the appropriate reshelving slips are printed (if reshelving slip printing is available).

You can make reshelving slip printing available from the properties of the following wizards.
