Checkin Bookdrop Items Wizard
The Checkin Bookdrop Items wizard is used to discharge items left in the bookdrop or when the library is closed. You can use this wizard to check in multiple items left in the bookdrop and backdate their date of discharge.
To check in bookdrop items

In the Special Circulation Functions group, click the Checkin Bookdrop Items wizard. |

Under Enter Date of Discharge, in the Date box, use the Calendar gadget to select a check in date. |

Under Identify Item, scan the item ID in the Item ID box. |
If the Current item record displays, the last item record displayed, modified, or added is retained. Click this button to select this item.

The bookdrop item will display in the List of Discharges. |

|
Repeat the previous steps for each item you want to check in from the bookdrop. |
After checking in items from the bookdrop, select one of the following options:

Clear Discharge List to clear the list of bookdrop items |

Close to close this wizard |
Important Considerations When Using this Wizard
|
•
|
If the items in the bookdrop should not be backdated on discharge, use the Discharge/Checkin wizard. |

|
If the item is to be reshelved at your library, title and routing information display. |
|
•
|
If the item is to go in transit to another library, the Route/Transit to [Library] message window displays. |
|
•
|
If the Global Configuration wizard is set to allow you to put items in transit manually, you can click Put in Transit to send the item to the specified library, or click Cancel to discharge the item but keep it at your library. |

•
|
If the patron has a credit account and policies are configured to automatically pay fines with funds from the credit account, fines created during check in/discharge may be paid automatically at check in. For more information, see FAQs: Credit User Accounts. |
