Update Select User Delinq Stat Report
The Update Select User Delinq Stat (Userdelinq) report does the following.
• | Changes a user’s delinquency status from OK to DELINQUENT, and from DELINQUENT to BLOCKED. Custom user statuses with an OK delinquency type are changed to DELINQUENT if the custom user status’ Auto-Replace attribute is Always or Raise Only. Custom user statuses with a DELINQUENT delinquency type are changed to BLOCKED if the custom user status’ Auto-Replace attribute is Always or Raise Only. |
• | Marks charged items as overdue so the items can be selected by overdue notice reports |
• | Updates the status of users whose bills and charges meet system defined limits |
• | For recalls on holds, it sets the Recall Due period (the date the user has to return the recalled item before it is considered an overdue recall) that is used to calculate the date for delinquency or blocking |
This report differs from the Update User Delinquency Status (Setdelinq) report in that it allows you to select a specific group of users to be reviewed for delinquency status.
The Update Select User Delinq Stat report contains the following tabs.
• | Basic Tab: Reports |
• | Generate List of Delinquent Users Tab |
• | User Accountability Selection Tab |
• | User Selection Tab |
• | User Status Selection Tab |
When the library is configured to track user status by library group, an overdue charge will modify the user’s status for the bill maintenance group of the charge library. A recalled hold will modify the user’s status for the bill maintenance group of the station library which placed the hold. All of a user’s delinquencies are modified across all library groups with a single running of this report. Refer to the FAQs: Tracking User Status by Library Group topic for more information.
On the Generate List of Delinquent Users tab, you can select the Generate List of Delinquent Users check box to create a delinq file to be used conjunction with Offline WorkFlows. The file lists the user IDs of all delinquent users with a second field describing whether each is has a user status of DELINQUENT, BLOCKED, or BARRED, or a custom user status with a DELINQUENT, BLOCKED, or BARRED delinquency type. By default, this check box is cleared.
To manage the size of the delinq file, you can select to include only BLOCKED or BARRED users in the list. You can also select a last activity date (using the Date Range gadget) to include in the list only users whose last activity date was before, on, after, or within a range of dates.
If a delinq file is generated, it and the date it was run will be included as part of your system’s daily backup. To ensure that outdated files are not retained if you choose to generate a file once but not for subsequent runs, existing files are detected and removed the next time one of the user delinquency reports is run.
When the library is configured to track user status by library group, the Update Select User Delinq Stat report produces a separate status file for each library group so the user’s status for the bill maintenance group of that particular library is current for offline transactions.
This report ensures that the user group status will take precedence over the user status when the user is linked to a user group and that user shares the group level responsibility.
If you want to override users’ system defined status, use the Update User Status (Setuserstatus) report. However, the Update Select User Delinq Stat Report and Update User Delinquency Status reports will automatically return the status of records that exceed the specified limits to DELINQUENT and BLOCKED the next time the delinquency status reports are run. In the case of custom user statuses, the reports will automatically return the status of records that exceed the specified limits to DELINQUENT and BLOCKED the next time the reports are run only if the Auto-Replace attribute of the custom user status is set to Always, or is set to Raise Only and DELINQUENT or BLOCKED is more restrictive than the custom user status.
The results of this report are embedded in the report log. Do not select to view, print, or email results only, or the system will return an error message. In the View Finished Reports window, if you select the View Results check box but do not select the Format Report check box, WordPad may open and begin the unformatted report output with the following formatting text.
