Delete Serials Claims Report

The SirsiDynix Symphony Workstation server needs to be running to schedule and run this report, or the report will fail. Do not halt the SirsiDynix Symphony Workstation server until the report displays on the finished list.

When using the Delete Serials Claims report, serial claim records are completely removed, so this report should be run only with extreme care. This report is password protected. If you do not know the password, see your SirsiDynix Symphony administrator.

The Delete Serials Claims (Delserclaim) report removes incorrect serial claim records created by a Prediction as Late report that was run in early versions of Unicorn 99 using incorrect selections. The Prediction as Late (Issuelate) could have been run in such a way that a serial claim record was created for virtually every prediction record on the system. The Any Copies Expected field was delivered with the selections Yes or No, and defaulted to Yes. Sometimes users would select No, causing all predictions to be selected, and so every prediction record would have a corresponding serial claim created. Now, the system defaults to Yes for any copies expected, and this selection cannot be changed. Without this report, you would need to remove claims created using the incorrect selections manually.

To ensure success, the Delete Serials Claims report should be run using selections identical to the original Prediction as Late report. Two additional selections must be made.

•

The default Claim Reason in the Serial Claim Selection is ISSUELATE. This is the reason entered by the Prediction as Late report.

The Date Created in the Serial Claim Selection must be the same day that the faulty Prediction as Late report was run.

Other selections specific to individual cases can be used if it will help refine the serial claim selection.
