Desktop: Changing the Current Toolbar

From the Current Toolbar menu, you can select a different toolbar, save the current toolbar to another directory or with another name, map wizards on the current toolbar to function keys, or make changes to the toolbar using the Toolbar Management tool.

The following options are available.

Select

In the WorkFlows clients, there are several methods for selecting toolbars.

In the WorkFlows Themes view, click a button in the Module bar.
In the WorkFlows Classic view, point next to the current toolbar, right-click, then select Select Current Toolbar from the shortcut menu. In the toolbar list, select the toolbar you prefer to display. Click OK to change the toolbar. Click Cancel to keep the current toolbar.
In either WorkFlows view, on the Preference menu, point to Desktop, then Current Toolbar, and select Select. In the toolbar list, select the toolbar you prefer to display. Click OK to change the toolbar. Click Cancel to keep the current toolbar.

Save As

To save the current toolbar to another directory, or with another name, on the Preference menu, point to Desktop, then Current Toolbar, and select Save As. The Toolbar: Select File window opens, where you can select a directory and new file name, then click Save. Clicking Cancel exits the window without saving your changes.

Function Key Mapping

To map function keys to specific wizards, use the Function Key Mapping template.

To map the basic function key, clear the Shift and Alt check boxes. In a function key box, such as the F2 box, select a wizard from the list. Only previously unmapped wizards will appear in the list. The lists are refreshed as new function key assignments are made.
To map a function key plus SHIFT key combination, select the Shift check box, and in a function key box, select a wizard from the list.
To map a function key plus ALT key combination, select the Alt check box, and in a function key box, select a wizard from the list.
To map a function key plus SHIFT and ALT key combination, select the Shift and Alt check boxes, and in a function key box, select a wizard from the list.

After making selections for function key mappings, click OK to save your changes.

For a listing of the default wizard keyboard shortcuts, see Toolbar Wizard Keyboard Shortcuts.

When mapping function keys, it is important to consider the following:

The following function keys and key sequences cannot be mapped: F1 (Help button), F6, F8, F10, SHIFT+F10, and F4+ALT. These function keys/sequences are reserved for Windows functions.
To use a mapped function key, press the function key alone or while simultaneously pressing the SHIFT or ALT to begin a wizard.
When you open the Function Key Mapping template from the Preferences menu, if there are conflicting mappings, a conflict message displays. You can choose to correct the key mapping or not.

Local Toolbar Management

Before modifying a toolbar, see FAQs: Toolbar Management.

There several methods for accessing the Toolbar Management tool.

In either the WorkFlows Themes view or Classic view, on the Preference menu, point to Desktop, then select Local Toolbar Management, and the Toolbar Management window opens.
In WorkFlows Classic view, point next to the current toolbar, right-click, then select Local Toolbar Management from the shortcut menu. The Toolbar Management window opens.
In either WorkFlows view, if your user access permits, click the Toolbar Management wizard on the Configuration toolbar. Use this wizard to globally manage toolbars for all users of your system. See the Toolbar Management wizard topic for more information.

Toolbars are saved to workstation in the home directory defined by your login, typically \Documents and Settings for Windows workstations, in the following directories.

SirsiDynix delivered toolbar files are stored in the \Sirsi\Workflows\Toolbar directory.
Site customized toolbar files are stored in the \Sirsi\Workflows\Toolcust directory.
Locally customized toolbar files are stored in the \Sirsi\Workflows\ToolLocal directory.

For Mac workstations, toolbars are saved in the following directories.

SirsiDynix delivered toolbar files are stored in the \Users\<User>Library\
\Workflows\Toolbar directory.
Site customized toolbar files are stored in the \Users\<User>Library\Preferences\Workflows\Toolcust directory.
Locally customized toolbar files are stored in the \Users\<User>Library\Preferences\Workflows\Toollocal directory.

The Toolbar Management window displays three panes: Delivery Toolbar Files, Customized Toolbar Files, and Local Toolbar Files.

The Delivery Toolbar Files pane displays the toolbars delivered by SirsiDynix.
The Customized Toolbar Files pane displays the toolbars saved to the server
The Local Toolbar Files pane displays the toolbars saved locally.

Clicking a toolbar displays a tree structure of the group wizards and individual wizards that display on these toolbars.

In the Delivery Toolbar Files pane, you can do the following.

Copy a toolbar file to either the Local Toolbar Files or Customized Toolbar Files panes.
Copy a wizard to a clipboard, and paste the wizard either in a toolbar file or group wizard node in the Customized Toolbar Files or Local Toolbar Files panes. A single wizard or single group wizard can be copied to a clipboard.

In the Customized Toolbar Files pane and Local Toolbar Files pane, you can do the following.

Change the descriptive name for a toolbar file.
Copy a toolbar file to the Customized Toolbar Files pane or the Local Toolbar Files pane. (You cannot copy custom or local toolbars to the Delivery Toolbar Files pane.)
Add a single wizard, a single wizard group, or a separator to a toolbar file.
Modify a toolbar file, a wizard, a wizard group, or a separator from a toolbar file.
Remove a toolbar file, or a wizard group, or a wizard, or a separator from a toolbar file.
Save a toolbar file with a different name or description.
Paste a wizard, a wizard group, or separator within a toolbar file or a wizard group using Paste Before or Paste After.
Move a wizard, a wizard group, or a separator within a toolbar file or a wizard group using the Remove and Paste methods.

Each time you add, modify, or remove custom toolbars, the changes are immediately reflected on your workstation when you select Save On Server. When you add, modify, or remove local toolbars, the changes are automatically saved to your workstation.
