Add Decision Tool
To make a selection list line decision
1 | On the wizard tab, select a list line, and click the Add Decision tool. The Decision tab appears. |
2 | Under Decision Details, select a decision from the list, either BUY, DONTBUY, or MAYBE. Type the quantity to be ordered. Click Add Decision, and the Decision and Extended Info tabs appear. |
Note: Making a BUY decision does not encumber funds.
3 | On the Decision Tab, under Ordering Details, add the funding/distribution information for this decision. Use the tools to create funding/distributions segments. For more information, see the Segments Tab topic. The Replace Fundings & Distributions Helper is available for applying a frequently ordered pattern to this decision. |
4 | On the Extended Information Tab: Decisions, you can add a note to the Selector Note extended information field. |
5 | Click Add Decision, and return to the wizard tab. |

If selected in properties to appear, the Display Bibliographic Description helper may be available to view detailed information about the title.
If an existing purchase decision has already been made for the selected selection list line, the “Decision already exists for this user. Editing existing decision” message displays to indicate that the existing decision will be modified.
For more information about creating funding/distribution segments, see FAQs: Working with Orderline Segments.
In the My Decisions wizard, when you add a decision from the Undecided tab, the decision record moves to the Decided tab.
