Request

Overview

The request wizards help you manage requests sent from library users. Library users can communicate their needs or requests to the library by sending a particular type of request using the e-Library. Each request can be associated with a particular user and/or item, depending on its request type. If the request is associated with a user, the wizards can be used to reply to the user.

Each request is identified in the system by a request ID. You can type a unique request ID number or allow the system to generate a request ID automatically in a library-defined pattern. Different libraries may define different patterns for auto-generated request IDs. SirsiDynix Symphony assigns request IDs automatically to patron requests created through the e-Library.

Wizards

The following wizards are used to create and maintain request records.

The Item Search and Display Wizard, Check Item Status Wizard, and Getting Help also appear on the toolbar.

Set Properties may display as the first step of some wizards. Click OK to accept the default values.
