Shutdown Options (Windows only)

The Shut down Symphony servers during report run option specifies whether to shut down the SirsiDynix Symphony services as this report runs. Service shutdown is enabled by default, but you may uncheck this box if you want the services to remain available. This may be an ideal option for libraries which would benefit from 24/7 catalog and user account access.

Whether or not this option impacts the Add, Delete, Update Item (aduitemtext) report is dependent on the settings of the Rebuild Selection tab. If the Run as Rebuild option is selected, then the services are forced to shut down for the report to run. For information about the Rebuild Selection tab, see Rebuild Selection Tab.

If you choose to keep the SirsiDynix Symphony services running as the report runs, you may encounter the following message while using SirsiDynix Symphony WorkFlows: "The records are currently in use." This message is a result of those records being locked for indexing or updating; the records will become available again after the report is finished.
