This tab contains the following attributes.

Based on the Format policy’s purpose, not all of the attributes may appear.

Purpose

This attribute specifies how this Format policy will be used with SirsiDynix Symphony records. By assigning a particular purpose to a Format policy, SirsiDynix Symphony prompts the user only with appropriate Formats at any place in the system when a Format policy is requested. For example, if the Add Title wizard is being used to key in a bibliographic record, when prompted for the record’s format, the list of allowable Format policies will only include those used for catalog records.

Note: This attribute is assigned when a format is created and cannot be modified.

For more information about the delivered Format policies and their purposes, go to the Format policy topic.
