MARC Family Wizard
The MARC Family policy allows you to choose the type of MARC encoding that applies to a specific set of records. When importing records via SmartPort or the Load Bibliographic Records report, you can select the MARC Family to be used. SirsiDynix Symphony then only looks at the Bibliographic Map policies which contain the selected MARC Family, thereby limiting the assignment of a Catalog Format to those attached to a specific encoding family.

This feature is only used by sites importing records of different MARC encodings, such as MARC 21 and UNIMARC.
By default, the MARC Families feature is not configured. To use this feature, contact SirsiDynix Customer Support.
