Import Tab: MARC Order Import Utility Wizard
The Import tab of the MARC Order Import Utility wizard imports bibliographic record files and any associated order record files.
To import bibliographic records and order record files
1 | In the Source box, type the source file name as it exists on the workstation or server, or click the Select File gadget to select the source file. Using the gadget will display the entire file path name in the Source box, including the drive. |
2 | In the Destination box, type the name you want to give the file when it is imported. |
3 | Click Import. |
4 | If no more files are to be imported, click No in the Confirmation dialog box. If you want to import another file, click Yes to return to the Import tab, and repeat steps 1 through 5 for each file to be imported. |
Import files must be in MARC bibliographic format. No other formats are supported.
If you are loading multiple files, SirsiDynix Symphony checks to see if the destination file is present. If the file already exists, SirsiDynix Symphony requests permission to overwrite the existing destination file. If you click Yes, the process continues, and the new information replaces the old in the destination file. If you click No, you will be returned to the Import tab so you can specify a new destination file name.
