Rebuild User Database Report

The Rebuild User Database (Rebldusertext) report removes and recreates the user database, which is used for user searching, from the SirsiDynix Symphony database.

Run this report only under the direction of SirsiDynix Customer Support. You would run the Rebuild User Database report to rebuild the User Text Database and the User Dynamic Database index if you were having difficulty retrieving recently added users or were retrieving incorrect users soon after they were added or modified.

You should not load, create, or edit any user data when the rebuild reports are running.

This report displays the following tabs.

Two types of data may be rebuilt. The User Text Database is your library’s primary permanent data. The User Dynamic Database is the index that is created when new users are added by the workstation prior to running the Add, Delete, Update User report. The User Dynamic Database index is typically not segmented. When the Add, Delete, Update User report is run each night between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., the User Dynamic Database index is automatically rebuilt.

If a record was being edited after the Add, Delete, Update User report began, the User Dynamic Database index is reorganized instead of being rebuilt.

Run this report to rebuild the User Text Database and the User Dynamic Database index if you are having difficulty retrieving recently added users or are retrieving incorrect users soon after they were added or modified.
