User Credit Transaction Activity Tab

Reports that produce patron credit account statements include the User Credit Transaction Activity tab. This tab includes the following options.

If set in properties to display, the Notices helper may be available for creating or modifying statement notice text.

Closing Text

From the list, select the text to be used following the transaction list in the statement.

Generate Pipe Delimited Output

If the Generate Pipe Delimited Output check box is selected, the report creates a pipe-delimited file and places it in the /Rptprint directory with the naming convention of yyyymmdd_internalrptname.pipe. The report log lists the pipe-delimited report file name. This pipe-delimited file can be opened using a third-party application, such as a spreadsheet application. If the check box is cleared, report results will print as usual, in a text format. Sorting selections made within the report are not applied to pipe-delimited files. For example, if you sort the report by zip code, the zip code sort is not applied to the contents of the pipe-delimited file.

The entries listed in the Brief Entries attribute of the User Address Format wizards are used to supply information for the address fields in the pipe-delimited file. The City/State field (if it is used) is evaluated as one field, not as two separate fields for the city and the state. The report will check user records for the fields listed in the Brief Entries attribute and print only the populated fields in the pipe-delimited output.

Library Address

Specifies which address of the library will be printed on the statement. The Primary, Address1, Address2, or Address3 address as defined in the library’s user record can be selected. If no address is selected, the primary address listed in the library’s user record is used. This selection is available only when the Library Address on Notice check box is selected.

Library Address on Notice

If this check box is selected, the library’s address displays on the statement. The exact address that prints on the statement is determined by the setting of the Library Address option.

Notice Text

Your library can create the text files that may be selected from the list. The Notice helper can be used to display and modify statement notice text files.

Number of Columns Indented

Enter the number of columns from the edge of the page that should be indented from the left.

Number of Lines in Top Margin

Enter the number of lines from the top of the page that should be skipped before the first line of text.

Print Account Statements for Users with No Activity

If this check box is selected, the report will generate a statement for every user with a credit account, whether the user’s account had any activity in the reporting period or not. If there was no activity in the reporting period, the statement will contain a notice to that effect.

Salutation on Notice

If this check box is selected, the salutation ”Dear User Name:” with the user name as defined in the user’s record, precedes the statement text, in addition to the user name and address that prints on all statements. If the user has a Title defined in his user record, such as Mr. or Ms., it is used instead of the first name in the salutation.

Select ’Sent-From’ Library

Use this list to specify which library’s address is to be used for the return address. The selections in this list are defined by the Library policy.

Transaction Date Range

All of the credit account transactions selected by the report were made during the time span indicated in this field. To select a range of dates, use the Date Range gadget.

User Address to Print

Select Mailing Address to print the user’s primary address, as indicated in the user record. Alternately, you may select Address 1, Address 2, or Address 3 to print on the statements. If your library is configured for User Groups, and a member of the user group is indicated as the Notice Master on the User Groups tab of the user record, the address for the Notice Master will be used for all statements belonging to the group.
