Index Reading Program Data Report

The Index Reading Program Data (Idxreadprog) report indexes the reading program data in your system. If your site is populating MARC records with reading program data in the 526 MARC tag, then this report should be run nightly to index new catalog records for access via the e-Library Reading Program searching feature.

The Library System Administrator must schedule this report to run nightly, before the Add, Delete, Update Databases report is run; otherwise, updates to reading program lists cannot be viewed with the e-Library Reading Program Search.

This report is in the e-Library tab of reports on SirsiDynix Symphony systems, and in the Housekeeping tab of reports on SirsiDynix Symphony K12 systems.

In order to support the K12 e-Library Reading Programs feature, the system administrator needs a way to process 526 entries into a local MARC tag for indexing, such as reusing the 595 as in the K-12 Library system. Often the 526 data is added to a MARC record with custom processing by a service like ACHIEVE Marc; or, a catalog may simply add the 526 data to the MARC record. Then the 526 data is processed whenever needed with the new Index Reading Program Data report.
