Title Selection Tab

The Title Selection tab contains fields that are used to select titles certain characteristics for a report. This tab may contain any of the following fields.

Accountable

This selection is only useful to libraries with the Accountability module. If Yes, the bibliographic record with associated accountability records are included. If No, catalog records under accountability are excluded. If Both, all catalog records, whether or not they are under accountability, are included.

Created By

All catalog records in the report were entered into the system by the specified user access. Use the Policy List gadget to enter a list of User Access policies.

Date Cataloged

All bibliographic records were cataloged on this specified date. The Date Cataloged field in the catalog record defaults to NEVER for newly created titles, and can be changed manually or when more complete cataloging is loaded. To select a range of dates, use the Date Range gadget.

Date Created

All catalog records in the report were created or loaded into SirsiDynix Symphony on this specified date. To select a range of dates, use the Date Range gadget. Note This date does not correspond to the date in the fixed field that indicates when the record was created in the bibliographic utility.

Date Modified

All bibliographic records were modified on this specified date. A modification includes any Edit or Create Item command at the catalog, call number, or copy level. A match and load bibliographic record or any record value modification report that affects the item will also update the Date Modified. Creating an associated record, such as an Accountability, an Order, or a Serial Control, will not change the Date Modified. To select a range of dates, use the Date Range gadget.

Format

All catalog records in the report are this record format, such as SERIAL, MARC. Use the Policy List gadget to select formats. If no value is selected, all formats are included.

Modified By

All catalog records in the report were modified by the specified user accesses. Use the Policy List gadget to enter a list of User Access policies.

Number of Call Numbers

All bibliographic records in the report have the specified number of call numbers. Titles created without copies for ordering or memos will still have a minimum of one call number. Each volume of a multiple volume set is considered an additional call number. To select a range of numbers, use the Number Range gadget.

Number of Copies on Order

All titles in the report have the specified number of copies on order or received, but not yet loaded into the catalog. The count includes both multiple copies within a single order, and multiple orders placed for a single call number. To select a range of numbers, use the Number Range gadget.

Number of Libraries

All titles in the report have holdings (at least one call number) in the specified number of libraries (as defined in the Library policy). To select a range of numbers, use the Number Range gadget.

Number of Title Holds

All titles in the report have the specified number of holds at the title level. To select a range of numbers, use the Number Range gadget.

Number of Total Holds

All titles in the report have had the specified number of holds, including those placed at the copy, call, title, and system levels. This is a total number of holds over the life of the title, not current holds. To select a range of numbers, use the Number Range gadget.

Publication Year

All titles in the report have the specified publication year. The publication year is from the DATE1 element of the fixed field 008, if present. If the program does not find a publication date there, it checks the 264|c field (if the second indicator is set to 1) and then the 260|c field. If no date is found, then each tag in the record with a data entry type of publication date is checked. The first non-empty tag with an entry type of publication date will be used for the publication date. If all tags with an entry type of publication date are empty, then the publication date field of the item will be empty. Use the Number Range gadget to select a four digit year.

Review

This selection is likely to be of use to only cataloging staff, and usually brings up a very small subset of records whose cataloging has not yet been approved for addition to the catalog. If Yes, only bibliographic records that were loaded into SirsiDynix Symphony for review during the cataloging process will be selected. If No, review bibliographic records are excluded. If Both, all bibliographic records will be selected.

Shadowed

If Yes, all titles selected by the report are titles whose catalog shadow flag is set to Yes. Any titles whose catalog shadow flags are not set to Yes are ignored. If No, all titles selected by the report are titles whose catalog shadow flag is set to No. Any titles whose catalog shadow flags are not set to No are ignored.

If Both, all titles selected by the report are titles whose catalog shadow flag is set to Yes or No.

If no Shadowed option is selected, the report selects titles without regard to the value of the catalog shadow flag. Most reports do not have a default Shadowed selection, so the catalog shadow flag is not considered when these reports select titles.
