Patron Card Printer Policy Helper
The Patron Card Printer Policy helper allows you to define the printers used by the Patron Card Template policies, and what character encoding these printers use.
For example, the following card printer policies are defined for a library.
Policy Name |
Description |
ELTRN-P310 |
Eltron P310 patron card printer |
EZ4TT |
EZ4TT Series patron card printer |
Attributes
The Printer Card Policy helper displays the following attributes.
• | Name |
• | Description |
• | Character Encoding |
Name
This attribute uniquely identifies a Patron Card Printer policy. This name is ten characters or less, and may not include spaces or punctuation, except for dash (-), underscore (_), and dollar sign ($). Additionally, the pipe character (|) may not be used.
Description
This attribute provides more information about the policy and its use by the library. The description may be up to 60 characters in length. Although the Description attribute may contain spaces and punctuation, the pipe character (|) cannot be used.
Character Encoding
You can specify the character set this card printer supports. The UTF8, BIG5, GBK, and US character encodings are supported. Select a character encoding from the list. If you do not select an encoding, the helper defaults to the US character encoding. When the Print Patron Card wizard retrieves the selected template for printing cards, it also retrieves the associated character set, loads the character translation table (if it is not loaded already), and then makes the character set conversion.
