Print Patron Card Wizard

The Print Patron Card wizard allows you to print cards for patrons on-the-fly, using printers with built-in card printing capabilities. Some card printers support multiple card templates or layouts.

Patron card templates are defined in the Patron Card Template wizard policies.

To print patron cards

On the Circulation toolbar, click the Print Patron Card wizard.

In the User Search window, type or scan the user’s ID in the Search For box, and click Search.

If you don’t know the user’s ID, use the User Search Helper, and click Search.

If selected in default properties to display, the Patron Card Template and Desktop Printer fields appear.

Select a template in the Patron Card Template list.

If you move the insertion point over the Patron Card Template box, the printer associated with the template will appear as a tool tip.

Important: All templates are listed, so be sure to only select a template that is supported by the printer you select in the Desktop Printer list.

Select a printer in the Desktop Printer list.

Important: This list displays all printers configured for the desktop, so be sure to only select a printer that has built-in card printing capability.

Click Print Card.

After printing a patron card, select one of the following options:

•

Print Card to print another patron card for this user.

•

Display Another User to print a card for another patron.

•

Close to exit the wizard.
