How do I set up default values when a temporary title record is created?
By selecting property settings in the Add Brief Title wizard, you can set default values to be used when you create a temporary title record.
To select and set the default values to be used when creating temporary title records

In the Items group, right-click the Add Brief Title wizard, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu. |

In the Set Properties window, on the Defaults tab, set the default settings for your temporary title records. |

Click OK to save the settings. |
How do I place a hold on a new brief title for the Cataloging Department?
To ensure that the brief title being added at the Circulation Desk gets trapped and routed to the Cataloging Department for review when this item is checked in, you can place a hold on the title for the Cataloging department. When discharged from the patron, the item will be trapped and held for the Cataloging staff.
To place a hold on a new brief title for the Cataloging Department

In the Items group, click the Add Brief Title wizard. |

Type the item’s title, review call number and copy information, then click Add Brief Title. |

Click Close to exit the Add Brief Title wizard. |

In the Holds group, click the Place Hold wizard. |
|

In the User ID box, identify the user as the Cataloging Department. |

In the Item ID box, identify the item. |
|

|
Continue placing the hold. |
If the Holds Block Override message displays, type the override code, then click Override & Place Hold.
