FAQs: WorkFlows Files Saved to the Workstation Home Directory

What WorkFlows files are saved to the home directory on my workstation?

The WorkFlows client saves various files to the home directory on your workstation, typically the \Documents and Settings directory for workstations running Windows XP or older, the \Users\[username] directory for workstations running Windows Vista or newer, or the /[username]/Library/Preferences directory for Mac workstations. A home directory is defined for your workstation logon by your system administrator.

The following folders are created under \Sirsi\Workflows in Windows home directories or under /Preferences/Workflows in Mac directories when the WorkFlows client logs in to the server.

Configure – contains the accesslist file
Images – contains the images used in the WorkFlows interface
LOG – contains the transaction files created by offline mode wizards
Property – contains files with properties and preferences settings, and a stamp file
tmp – contains temporary files created by the client that are removed when you exit the client, including patron photos downloaded to this directory from the server and the results files generated by the Batch Photo Import Utility
Toolbar – contains toolbar files downloaded from the /Unicorn/Clients/Toolbar/<Workflows> directory on the server
Toolcust – contains toolbar files downloaded from the /Unicorn/Clients/Toolcust/<Workflows> directory on the server
Toollocal – contains localized toolbar files saved on your workstation

When completely re-installing a new client on your workstation (not just updating the client), it is recommended that you delete the \Workflows folder in your home directory, located in the \Sirsi directory on Windows systems and in the /Preferences directory on Mac systems. The files will be re-created after you log in to the server with the new client. There is no need to remove this folder if you are only updating the client.
