FAQs: Creating Requests through the e-Library
Requests are usually placed in the e-Library and sent to the library. You can use the Request module to reply to a specific request or to manage a set of requests. The library user can view library replies or messages in the e-Library.
Creating a Request in the e-Library
You can create a request by selecting either I Need Material, My Account, or Contact Us, depending on the type of request.
To place a Search Services request
1 | Log into the e-Library and select I Need Material at the top of the Search/Home window. |
A library-configured list of request types will appear.
2 | Select the Search Services request type. |
3 | Fill in the Search Description, Suggested Subject Terms, Date Range, and User ID or Alt ID text boxes. |
4 | Click Reset Query Values, to empty all text boxes and type in new values. |
5 | Click Send, to Display a Request Confirmation dialog box. |
Typical I Need Material requests include the following.

Typical My Account requests include Change My Address.
Typical Contact Us requests include Comment and Question.

Depending on your system’s configuration, either Enhanced Hold, Place Immediate Hold, or Place Holds display.
The Place Holds request creates a request for a hold to be created by library staff, either interactively or by a report.
Enhanced Hold and Place Immediate Hold allow the library user to place holds without library staff intervention.
