Transit Selection Tab

The Transit Selection tab contains fields that are used to select items that were put in transit, and use the item information in a report. This tab may contain any of the following fields.

Date Sent

Items in transit are selected by the report based on the date sent. The date sent is the date and time that the item was put in transit. Use the Date Range gadget to select a date or range of dates.

Destination Library

Items in transit are selected by the report based on the destination library. The destination library is the library where the transited item is going. Use the Library gadget to select one or more libraries.

Library

Items in transit are selected by the report based on the library, or transit library. This library selects items based on the library which put the item in transit. Use the Library gadget to select one or more libraries.

Reason

Items in transit are selected by the report based on the transit reason. Transit reason options include HOLD, BOOKING, RESERVE, LIBRARY, or OPERATOR. Use the gadget to select one or more reasons.

A HOLD reason indicates that the item has a hold which would be available except that the pickup library for the hold differs from the station library. The item needs to be sent to the pickup library in order to be available for circulation.
A BOOKING reason indicates that the item has a booking which would be available except that the pickup library for the booking differs from the station library. The item needs to be sent to the pickup library in order to be available for circulation.
A RESERVE reason indicates that the item is on reserve at a reserve desk whose library differs from the station library. The item needs to be sent to the reserve desk library in order to be available for circulation.
A LIBRARY reason indicates that the item is at a library other than its owning library without a valid reason (a hold, booking, charge, or reserve). The item needs to be sent to its owning library in order to be available for circulation.
An OPERATOR reason indicates that the item has been charged to a recirculatable user belonging to a library other than the item’s owning library. This kind of transit happens when an item is charged to another library.

Starting Library

Items in transit are selected by the report based on the starting library. The starting library selects items based on the library where the transited item started. Use the Library gadget to select one or more libraries.
