Postload Tab
Postload processing applies to items created by a run of the Load Bibliographic records reports.
Postload holds processing can be used to identify items created by a run of the Load Bibliographic Records report that may be able to satisfy holds. It is useful when bibliographic records are being loaded in a way that adds item records to titles that already exist in the catalog, and those existing titles could have holds. This option is especially useful when a shipment of books is received from a book vendor with an accompanying file of bibliographic records with embedded item information. The resulting pick list can be used to pull items from the shipment so they can be quickly routed to satisfy holds. Use the Trap Holds wizard to initialize routing for selected items.
The following selections are available when loading bibliographic records. Refer to the Load Bibliographic Records (Bibload) report topic for important information about how these fields are interrelated.
Holdable Locations
Specify the locations to include or exclude from consideration when new items added by the report are checked to see if they can fill an existing hold. Use the Policy list gadget to select locations. The Holdable Locations field becomes active only when the Identify Items With Holds check box is selected.
Identify Items With Holds
Select this check box to have the report list any new items created by the report that can be used to fill existing holds. The items will be listed in a separate file that will be titled HL_reportname in the finished reports list. The list can be used to pull items so that they can be trapped with the Trap Hold wizard. When the Identify Items With Holds check box is selected, the Holdable Locations field and the Sorted By option become active. By default, this check box is cleared.

The Item Availability options can help make it clear that newly created items are not available at their home locations. Click one of the following Item Availability options.
