Prepare GUI Offline Data Report

The Prepare GUI Offline Data (Prepstand) report gathers policy and configuration information from the SirsiDynix Symphony server and prepares it for downloading to a WorkFlows workstation. This report enables the WorkFlows client to have current policy and configuration so the workstation can be used in an offline mode in an emergency. Ideally, this report should be run on a weekly basis.

The Prepare GUI Offline Data report contains the Basic Tab: Reports.

When the report runs on the SirsiDynix Symphony server, it creates two files in the /Unicorn/Standalone directory on the server.

• The verifylist File contains all of the policies that are needed to run the Offline WorkFlows wizards.
• The config File contains configuration information so Offline WorkFlows can operate in the same way as the fully functional WorkFlows client.

When the WorkFlows client connects to the SirsiDynix Symphony server, the verifylist and config files are automatically transferred to the Sirsi\Jwf\Configure directory on the workstation.

On the SirsiDynix Symphony server, run the Update User Delinquency Status (Setdelinq) report on a daily basis to keep the dumpdate (a date stamp file) and delinq (user status file) files current in the /Unicorn/Standalone directory on the server. These files are also transferred to the Sirsi\Jwf\Configure directory on the workstation when the WorkFlows client connects to the SirsiDynix Symphony server. The dumpdate and delinq files must be kept current along with the verifylist and config files for the WorkFlows client to be able to operate effectively as Offline WorkFlows in an emergency.

The verifylist File

Offline WorkFlows uses lists to display available policies in the Offline WorkFlows wizards. In a standard SirsiDynix Symphony system using the WorkFlows client, the policy lists are accessed from the server. However, for Offline WorkFlows, the policies must be downloaded to the workstation.

The verifylist file is in a format that provides all of the necessary information to generate the list on request in Offline WorkFlows. The Prepare GUI Offline Data gathers the data and creates the verifylist file in the Unicorn/Standalone/ directory on the server. This file is downloaded to the Sirsi\Jwf\Configure directory on the workstation automatically when the WorkFlows client connects to the SirsiDynix Symphony server.

The config File

In addition to policies, configuration information must be downloaded to the workstation so that it may behave in Offline WorkFlows the same way as the fully functional WorkFlows client. The Prepare GUI Offline Data prepares the data and creates the config file in the Unicorn/Standalone/ directory on the server. This file is downloaded to the Sirsi\Jwf\Configure directory on the workstation automatically when the WorkFlows client connects to the SirsiDynix Symphony server.
