Check Text Database Report

The Check Text Databases (Checktext) report searches catalogs in all BRS indexes and reports which catalog records are missing from the index, and which ones have incorrect shadow indexing (marked as misplaced in the report log). Records are listed by their corresponding internal keys.

This report can be used to determine the scope of the inconsistencies between the catalog and the BRS indexes. A SirsiDynix Symphony administrator can use this information to make a decision about whether or not running the Rebuild Text Database report will be worthwhile, since running rebuild reports on a large system can take a very long time, and may require some system ”down time.” If only a few records are listed as missing or misplaced, they can be manually edited to make a minor change, which will cause them to be reindexed during the daily run of the Add, Delete, Update Databases report.
