Update Staff Client by Specified Libraries Policy
The Update Staff Client by Specified Libraries policy is a Global Configuration policy that is read by the WorkFlows client at startup and stored as a global variable. This policy assists SirsiDynix Symphony administrators in coordinating the upgrade of staff clients. Administrators can elect to upgrade all staff clients at once, or stagger the updating of staff clients by selected libraries.
This feature is only available to
SirsiDynix Symphony administrators use the Update Staff Client Management wizard to schedule client updates. For more information, go the Update Staff Client Management wizard topic.
The Update Staff Client by Specified Libraries policy appears on the Maintenance tab of the Global Configuration wizard. The default value for this policy appears in the Select a Policy window. To modify this value, select Update Staff Client by Specified Libraries and click Modify. Click a radio button to select one of the policy attributes. Click Save to save your selection. The default value is Update Staff Client at All the Libraries.
Changing the default value of this global configuration policy, which is Update Staff Client at All the Libraries, may cause an undesirable effect when it comes to updating staff clients. Use caution when changing this policy value.

Update Staff Client at All the Libraries
Click this radio button, and when an upgraded WorkFlows client is available, all staff clients will be upgraded at once according to the schedule selected by the SirsiDynix Symphony administrator.
When this option is selected, the Update Staff Client by Specified Libraries option in the Update Staff Client Management wizard will not appear. SirsiDynix Symphony administrators will only be able to select the date and time of the staff client upgrade for all libraries.
Update Staff Client by Specified Libraries
Click this radio button, and when an upgraded WorkFlows client is available, SirsiDynix Symphony administrators will have the ability to stagger the updating of staff clients by selected libraries.
When this option is selected, the Update Staff Client by Specified Libraries option in the Update Staff Client Management wizard will appear. SirsiDynix Symphony administrators will be able to select libraries and schedule the upgrade of their staff clients on a predetermined schedule.
