Instruction Helper

The Instruction helper displays on the Basic tab for a gateway element. You can use this helper to create or edit an instruction text file for the gateway element. This file may contain searching examples and instructions, an abstract of database contents, copyright statements, usage disclaimers and/or usage restrictions.

To edit an existing instruction file.

Click the Instruction helper. A window opens, displaying the instruction files (*.dis) listed in the /Unicorn/Gateway directory.

In the File List pane, click a file name, and the text appears in the Content pane.

Make your edits, click Save, and the modified file is saved to the /Unicorn/Gateway directory.

To create a new instruction file

Click the Instruction helper. A window opens, displaying the existing instruction files listed in the /Unicorn/Gateway directory.

Click Create.

In the Enter File Name box, type a name for this instruction file, for example Cquicksrch.dis. Click OK.

In the Content pane, type the content for this instruction file.

Click Save, the new file is saved to the /Unicorn/Gateway directory, and the file list is updated with the new file name.

All delivered instruction files begin with an “S”; all custom instruction files should begin with a “C.”
