FAQs: Login Access
What are the required elements of a user’s login? And what does the login give a user access to?
The following chart is a graphical representation of the elements of a user’s login and the access permitted by this login.
For every login, there must be a corresponding user record. The user record is assigned a User Profile policy which requires that User Access, Location, and Environment policies be defined.
The User Access policy assigned to the user profile defines the following types of access.
• | Request List, which lists types of requests the user can create |
• | User Level (either Extended Public, Public, Staff, Supervisor, or System Administrator) |
• | Command List, which lists commands available to the user |
• | Report Groups the user can access |
• | Properties the user can modify |
The Environment policy assigned to the user profile defines the following.
• | Screens that appear to the user |
• | Gateways that are accessible to the user |
