Printing Labels

The Label Designer can work with any printer that can be connected to your network and with any labels you can use with your printer.

Before printing labels on your printer, you will need to do the following.

Make sure the label stock (form) you want to use is available on the printer server. Depending on the printer you are using to print label stock, the form you want may already be available on the printer server. If not, set up that form as the default label stock for your printer. Printer server properties should be set up on the computer hosting the printer. If you are printing to a network printer, you must set the label stock on the computer to which the printer is attached.
Set up that label stock (form) as the default stock for your printer.
Ensure that your printer supports printing graphics.

If you are using Windows, follow these steps to set up label stock (if needed) and set up defaults for your printer. Depending on the Windows version you are running, these instructions may vary slightly.

To set up label stock

In the Width box, type the width of the label stock. For example, if you are using standard labels, type 4.
In the Height box, type the height (length) of the label stock. For example, if you are using standard labels, type 1.33. The label set is about 4 inches by 1.33 inches. The labels on this label set are 1.00” x 1.25” (spine) and 2.62” x 1.25” (book).
In the Left box, specify the left margin.
In the Right box, specify the right margin.
In the Top box, specify the top margin.
In the Bottom box, specify the bottom margin.
Click Save Form.
