We have had this subscription for several years. Why is there not an order history?
Order histories are not automatically updated when orders are rolled over to a new fiscal cycle. When a subscription renewal is paid from a new order record, you need to create the order link manually on the Subscription tab in the Modify a Serial Control wizard. For more information, see the FAQ “How do I link a serial control to an order?” in FAQs: Linking and Maintaining Subscription Orders.
I just looked at the Serial Control records, and they were different. What is going on?
Remember, the content of the Serial Controls tab is controlled by the type of search performed, as well as where you are in the search process. When you search an order by catalog information such as title, subject, call number, or item ID, or even when you perform a general search, the Serial Controls tab reflects the number of serial control records associated with that title. When you search an order by order information such as order ID, packing list, or requisition number, the Serial Controls tab reflects the number of serial control records associated with that order. Also, if you search an order by title, but then display an individual order and orderline, you have actually switched from viewing the serial control records for the title to the serial control records for the order.
An easy way to distinguish between a Serial Controls tab linked to a title from a Serial Controls tab linked to an order is whether the Usage Statistics tab also displays. The Usage Statistics tab only displays in relation to a title.
