Add a Funding/Distribution Cluster Tool
Use the Add a Funding/Distribution Cluster tool to create new funding and distribution segments.
To add a funding/distribution cluster
1 | Click the Add a Funding/Distribution Cluster tool, and the Add Fund/Distribution Cluster(s) window opens. |
Note: To modify an existing funding/distribution segment, first remove the segment using the Delete Segment tool.
2 | The field values depend on the type of funding/distribution cluster you are creating. |
• | Select a Funding type, either Single Funding or Multiple Funding, and type the Number of Fundings. |
• | Select a Split Funding type (only if you selected Multiple Funding), either Amount Split or Percentage Split, and type the Number of Splits per Funding. |
• | Select a Distribution type, either Holding Distribution or User Distribution, and type the Number of Distributions. |
3 | Click OK. |
4 | In the segment editor pane, select values for the segment fields according to the type of funding/distribution segment you are creating. For examples on creating funding/distribution clusters, see the Typical Funding/Distribution Segment Scenarios topic on the Segments Tab. |
5 | After creating a funding/distribution segment cluster, click Save Your Changes. |
Important Considerations When Using this Tool
• | For more funding/distribution examples, see FAQs: Working with Orderline Segments. |
• | The total quantity specified for all fundings on an orderline should equal the total quantity for an orderline. |
• | A distribution always appears below the funding that “owns” the distribution. Also, within each funding/distribution segment, the total distributed quantity should equal the total funded quantity. |
• | When using this tool to create an order map template, it’s possible to leave the funding and holding distribution fields blank so that you can type the actual values when creating the order. |
• | In multilibrary systems that use the Fund Library Authorization policy, a message displays when the holding code library is not authorized in the associated fund cycle. When the message window is closed, the insertion point will be placed in the first fund ID field that did not pass validation. An invalid fund cycle/holding code pair will not be saved. Refer to FAQs: Understanding Fund Library Authorization for more information. |
