Reserve Materials

When an instructor has requested titles needed for reserve, the library must locate these copies. Usually, reserve copies are located with the library’s catalog or borrowed through interlibrary loan.

A borrowed personal copy can be placed on reserve as well. If a personal copy is borrowed from the instructor, a temporary catalog record must be created using the Add Brief Title Wizard.

Electronic, online documents can also be placed on reserve by creating a bibliographic record and reserve control record, and linking these records to the online address or full-text document. When students browse the list of items on reserve by instructor or course, they can display the online document. For more information, see FAQs: Using Electronic Reserves
