Parts in Set Gadget
When an order for multiple parts or volumes is placed using acquisitions wizards, the Parts in Set gadget is used to simplify and standardize the entry of volumes and parts into the Parts in Set field.
If the Parts in Set gadget is not available, type volume ranges according to the syntax defined in FAQs: Typing Orderline Parts.
To use this gadget
1 | Click the Parts in Set gadget. |
2 | Click either Labeled Parts or Text to determine the type of data that will be added. |
3 | If you click Labeled Parts, only that section may be filled in with the gadget; the Text section cannot be modified. Select or type values for the following. |
• | Label – From the list, you may select standard values such as ISSUE, NO., PT., or V. These values are defined in your library’s Name Label policy. |
• | Parts/Suffix – Type the actual values for the materials you are ordering. Values may be typed using basic syntax, with a hyphen used for a range of volumes and a comma used for gaps and/or variations. If a date is included as part of the volume designation, type a space followed by the date. The gadget inserts SirsiDynix’s standard syntax for orderline parts. |
4 | Or, if you click Text, only that section may be filled in with the gadget; the Labeled Parts section cannot be modified. Type any value in the Parts text box. This option is typically used for parts for which a label is not defined. Multiple values may be typed, separated by a comma. |
5 | Click OK to save your changes. |
