Remove Serial Control Wizard

The Remove Serial Control wizard guides you through the process of removing an entire serial control record. Information contained on the tabs displayed with this wizard cannot be edited.

To remove a serial control

In Item Search, identify the item title you want to display. A table of titles that meet your search criteria appears. When a title is highlighted, detailed information appears on the Description and Call Number/Item tabs below the search list table. To see more information, click Detailed Display.

Select a title, and click Remove Control to display control information details. If more than one control record is associated with a title, the List of Controls Found on Lookup window appears. Select one and display the control.

Note: If a title retrieved by the search does not have an associated serial control record, a message appears to inform you that there are no serial controls, and prompts you to type a new search.

Review the displayed information to make sure this is the control record you want to delete. When you are satisfied this is the control record to be deleted, click Remove Control to delete the record from the system.

If any issues are on the Expected, Received, or Claimed tabs, or if the control record has routings attached, you will be notified that issues or routings exist and be given the option to cancel the removal and review the tabs, or remove the control anyway.

After the control record has been removed, you may click one of the following options.

Return to Lookup to select another title from the list of titles searched

•

New Lookup to search another control

•

Close to exit the Remove Serial Control wizard
