Next Issue Tab
The Next Issue tab contains information about the issue currently expected to be received. This tab includes the following fields.
• | Base Call Number |
• | Chronology |
• | Copies Expected |
• | Copies Received |
• | Enumeration |
The Issues Checked In section lists any issues already checked in during the current wizard session.
From the Next Issue tab, select the Check In Now button to perform a standard issue receipt and proceed with the Check In Issues of a Serial wizard function. If the number of copies expected is not the same as the number of copies received, the Different Copies button permits you to change the copy receipt information. If the issue received is not the issue expected, the Different Issues button allows you to check in a different predicted issue, create a special prediction that may or may not follow the control’s prediction pattern, or create a combined receipt for multiple predictions.
The following fields are defined for the Next Issue tab.
The Chronology field contains the date published on the issue. When generating prediction records, the chronology pattern value begins with the date of the next issue of prediction records you want to generate. Each subsequent chronology pattern value in a list of predicted issues will follow the same format, sequentially, of the first issue. The format for entering the originating date into the Chronology field is dependent on the name pattern stated in the Chronology Type field of the Patterns tab.
The Copies Expected in a prediction record is the number of copies expected for an entire issue, and should equal the Copies to Receive value on the Subscription tab.
If the number of copies received does not equal the copies expected, partially received predictions will remain on the expected tab even after that issue’s Date Expected has passed. However, a claim record will also be created automatically for the unreceived issues, with a date claimed of NEVER.
If one or more copies have been received for this issue, they are displayed here. The number displayed is in association with the date that is displayed in the Date Received field. If additional copies are checked in on another date, the receipt date and copy number information will display on subsequent field lines.
When displaying distributions, this value represents only the copies received for a particular distribution.
When an issue is received, this field is called Number Received and you may type the number of copies received for this particular issue. Zero is not a valid value for this field.
Enumeration identifies an issue of a serial title by the numeric information printed on a particular issue. This may generally be defined as the volume, issue, and any item numbers displayed on the issue.
