Make This Pattern a Template Helper
This helper displays only when the Patterns tab is displayed in a wizard that can modify the information. It is useful when there are no appropriate existing templates, and you have customized a serial control pattern that you anticipate will be used in future serial controls.
This helper will only appear if your login has access to the Serial Pattern wizard.
To make a publication pattern a template

Click the Make This Pattern a Template helper. |

In the Name box, type up to 10 characters that identify the pattern you are saving. Your library may have an established naming convention, or you may follow the format of existing templates when naming the template. |

In the Description box, type a more complete description of the pattern the template will provide. |

In the Frequency Code box, type the Frequency policy code that corresponds to the Frequn code in the fixed field of the bibliographic record of the serial. If the Frequency Code is blank, or defined as a space, the corresponding policy is UNKNOWN. The Frequency Code policies available for selection are defined in Serial Control Configuration wizards. |

Field information associated with the currently displayed Pattern tab appears. The In Use field is equivalent to the Use field of the patterns tab. The Custom Chronology field is equivalent to the If Custom, Enter List field. The Days to Claim field is equivalent to the Days to Wait Before Claiming field. The Days to Subsequent Claim field is equivalent to Days Before Subsequent Claim field. The Number of Issues field is equivalent to the Limit field. |

Click Save Template. The defaults are saved using the Name you assigned to the template, and are now available from the template list when the Replace Patterns helper is used. |
