Application to View Reports Field in the Report Session Wizard

The Application to View Reports field specifies the full pathname to the application that will be launched when viewing templates, scheduled reports, and finished reports. The report displays in the application’s document window, and may be printed or saved in the application.

In the Application to View Reports field, type a full pathname to the application’s executable file, or use the Select File gadget to select the pathname.

The delivered default pathname for Windows systems is C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories. The default application executable file that will start when a report is viewed is wordpad.exe.

On Macintosh systems, no default pathname is delivered, but the typical pathname to a text editing application is \Applications\TextEdit.app.

The full pathname to the application’s executable file must be specified.

If you select an application other than the SirsiDynix-delivered default of wordpad.exe, you must choose an application that creates its own window when viewing the finished report. Finished reports cannot be viewed successfully with applications that do not create a separate window to display the report results.

Use the application’s save command to save a report.

Use the application’s print command to print the report on paper.
