Editing Format Options
The Edit Format window allows you to make changes to the report page settings when you schedule, modify, view, print, or email a report. This window appears when the Change Format option is selected.
To edit format options
1 | In the Character Set Table list, select the character set that is to be used when translating formatted reports. Only formatted reports use this character set. The DEFAULT value is appropriate for most systems except Chinese. |
2 | In the Page Length field, type total number of lines to print on a page. The default value is 72. |
3 | In the Page Width field, type the total number of characters to print across a page. The default value is 80. |
4 | In the Top Margin field, type the number of lines from the top that will be left blank when printing the report output on a page. The default value is 3. |
5 | In the Bottom Margin field, type the number of lines from the bottom that will be left blank when printing the report output on a page. The default value is 0. |
6 | Click OK to save the format settings. |

The Change Format option appears in the reports wizards only if the Display Format Page check box is selected in the Report Session wizard. The page settings can also be adjusted under Format Page in the Report Session wizard.
The default values set for the printing options work well for many printers when printing from Microsoft WordPad, where the WordPad page setup has been modified so the top, bottom, right, and left margins in WordPad are all set to 0 inches, and the font is set to Courier in 10 point size.
Some printers have a preset unprintable area that prevents WordPad margins from being set to 0 inches. If WordPad will not accept a margin setting of 0 inches, use the lowest value allowed for the margin setting.
