Information Desk Tab

In reports that select bibliographic records based on Information Desk policies, the following Information Desk selections may be available.

Information Desk

All items selected by the report will be added to or removed from this item list defined in the Information Desk policies. Only one list may be updated at a time. Select an Information Desk from the list.

Note: When you are running the Remove Items from Item List report, only the Information Desk option displays.

Search String

All catalog records in the report will contain the specified search string or strings. A record is selected if any of the terms entered into the search string list are present in the indexed fields of the bibliographic record. You can enter standard Boolean operators, truncation symbols, and qualifiers in the search string. The default operator is SAME. Use the String List gadget to select your search terms.

Note: The text entered in the Search String field is not case sensitive.

This selection is only available when the Bibliographic option is selected in the Type field. If the Item option or the Order option is selected, no search string text may be entered.

Type

All records selected by the report will be of this specified type. The following options are available for selecting items for the list.

Bibliographic — Performs catalog, call number, and item selections, but this option provides the additional option of entering a search string, which then searches the catalog by keyword. Use this option to create a bibliography type of list.
Item — Performs catalog, call number, and item selections.
Order — Performs catalog and call number selections only. Item selections are excluded because call numbers with orders attached will usually have no copies associated with them.

Note: To create an ”Items on Order” list, select the Order type on the Information Desk tab and make selections on the Order Line Selection and Title Selection tabs. The Item Selection tab will be unavailable so that titles without linked copies (typically titles on order) will be selected by the report.
