Important Considerations When Using This Wizard
•
When an item has a Booking Profile policy that specifies a cleanup time, and the booked item is discharged before the end of its booking period, the item is considered charged out to the library user of the booking. This ensures that the item is unavailable during its booking time. |
•
When a booking with a cleanup period is checked in, the cleanup time may be recalculated to accomodate an upcoming booking. See FAQs: Discharging Booked Items for more information. |
•
If the user has a BLOCKED or DELINQUENT type user status, and the Behavior property Warning if User Delinquent check box is selected, a status alert window appears during the discharge/checkin process. You can continue checking in items, investigate why the user is blocked or delinquent, accept payment from the user for bills, or cancel the discharge/checkin process. |
•
If the discharged item is part of a floating collection, you will be asked to shelve it in your library, unless it is needed at another library for a hold, booking, or reserve. |
•
It may be possible to find a user by previous user ID, if configured in policies. See the Searching by Previous User ID help topic. |
•
If the patron has a credit account and policies are configured, you may be able to automatically pay fines with funds from the credit account, refund a lost item bill, and more automatically at checkin. For more information, see FAQs: Credit User Accounts. |
